Malaysia, Network Engineer
Overview:
Collaborate with the network team to manage and support numerous POP networks and ISPs worldwide. This includes tasks such as POP build-out and redesign, BGP optimization, ISP coordination, and daily operations.
Responsibilities:
Network Engineer
- Support BGP and IGP network operations, including troubleshooting and administration of devices, networks, and traffic.
- Manage day-to-day service operations in the EMEA region.
- Collaborate with network and operational teams in other regions, such as China and Korea.
- Work with ISPs and IDCs to build, operate, and optimize our network efficiently.
Planning and Project Management
- Plan and lead key network improvement projects.
- Build POPs and support new product launches.
- Develop and enhance global standards, policies, and procedures to ensure reliable operations.
Qualifications:
- Malaysian only
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical discipline.
- Certification such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Huawei will be added advantage.
- Approximately 3 years of experience managing a large-scale, highly-distributed service network for 24x7 production, ideally focused on revenue generation rather than enterprise support.
- Over 3 years of hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting BGP networks with more than five (5) POPs/locations.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPN, etc.) and Ethernet troubleshooting tools and methods (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
- Extensive experience with layer 3 routing (e.g., OSPF) and layer 2 switching (e.g., VLAN, spanning tree).
- Familiarity with enterprise networking tools (e.g., Splunk) and processes (e.g., change management, incident management) in a cloud services environment.
- Detail-oriented, process-focused, and inquisitive with a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and strong teamwork abilities.
- Remote working position
- Working hours are based on UK time: 9:00 AM BST to 6:00 PM BST (5:00 PM MYT to 2:00 AM MYT).
