Vietnam, Technical Sales Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) to drive business growth in the Vietnam market. This position serves as the primary technical expert, working alongside the Sales team to consult, design, and implement Proof of Concepts (PoC) for CDN, Media Streaming, and Cloud Security solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the Vietnam Internet landscape (Telco/ISP), a mastery of CDN mechanics, and the ability to engage in high-level technical discussions with C-level executives and Tech Leads regarding Security and Performance.
 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Pre-sales Consulting: Partner with Sales to analyze customer requirements and design optimal solution architectures based on CDNetworks’ platform (Web Performance, Media Delivery, Cloud Security).
• Proof of Concept (PoC): Lead the configuration, deployment, and testing of solutions; demonstrate technical superiority through benchmarking against current systems or competitors.
• Media & CDN Expertise: Provide specialized consulting for OTT/Media clients on Live Streaming, VoD, and Low-latency streaming to optimize end-user experience in Vietnam.
• Security Advisory: Analyze client security threats and propose mitigation strategies (DDoS protection, WAF, Bot Management) leveraging CDNetworks' security portfolio.
• Technical Proposals: Author High/Low-Level Designs (HLD/LLD) and provide precise technical responses to RFPs/RFIs.
• Market Intelligence: Conduct technical analysis of competitors (Akamai, Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront) and the local network infrastructure to formulate "Technical Win" strategies

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecommunications, Electronics, or equivalent.
• Excellent technical presentation and communication skills (Vietnamese and English). 
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work under sales/technical pressure. 
• CDN & Media Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with CDN systems and Video Streaming (Live/VoD).
  • Deep understanding of streaming protocols: HLS, DASH, RTMP, WebRTC, SRT.
  • Hands-on experience with major CDN providers like Akamai, Cloudflare, or AWS CloudFront.
• Deep Technical Proficiency:
  • Mastery of Internet architecture, OSI Model, TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, HTTP/3 (QUIC).
  • Solid knowledge of DNS (Authoritative/Recursive), Load Balancing (GSLB), Web Servers (Nginx/Apache), and Caching mechanisms (Cache keys, Purge rules, TTL).
  • Experience with Linux OS administration and scripting (Bash/Python) for debugging, log analysis and API integration.
• Vietnam Telco Infrastructure Insight: 
  • In-depth knowledge of Vietnam ISP landscape (Viettel, VNPT, FPT, CMC...), Peering concepts, IXPs (VNIX), and the distinction between international vs domestic bandwidth.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Routing and Latency issues within the local infrastructure. 
• Security Focus: 
  • Practical Experience: Proven track record of deploying or operating security solutions, such as F5 (WAF), Palo Alto, or FortiGate.
  • Attack & Defense Mechanisms: 
    • ​​​​​​​Comprehensive understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities (SQL Injection, XSS, RCE, XML Injection, etc.).
    • Deep expertise in DDos attacks: Volumetric (L3/L4) vs Application Layer (L7), and mitigation techniques (Scrubbing centers, Rate limiting). 
    • Knowledge of Bot Management and API Security. 
• Added advantages: 
  • Security Certifications: CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CISSP, CISM are a strong plus.
  • Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Basic programming or DevOps/CI/CD knowledge to assist clients with API/SDK integration.
